Women of Vision Leadership Ministry Retreat 2018
The WOVL Retreat 2018 is a weekend where licensed women in the UPCI, pastor’s wives, female church leaders, and those seeking their ministerial license and ministry can come together for retreat, fellowship, training, and renewal. The retreat is focused toward women who are actively involved in ministry: evangelizing, teaching, preaching, worship leading, church planting, pastoring, chaplaincy, counseling, and involved in leadership positions within their local church and community. The retreat is open to women from around the country, although the retreat is limited to the first 35-40 women who register. The retreat is set up to remain small, so women can build connections and friendships with other women who are ministering and serving in ministry. The retreat is open to women of all ages, but unfortunately we cannot host children (15 and under) at this time. The retreat is aimed at providing encouragement and support for wherever the attendee is in their ministry journey, and is not aimed at pushing a person into pulpit or leadership ministry. We want to journey with you and help support you as you follow the voice of God in your calling and ministry. We also want to encourage each woman to speak with their pastor before attending the retreat. This retreat is meant to help support the work you are already doing with your pastor in your local context, and is not meant as a substitution. We want to walk alongside you and the leadership you already have in place in your life, and help bring encouragement and extra support to you as a female in leadership. We will announce our retreat theme in the upcoming months. The retreat will be located in a suburb of Saint Louis, MO. The retreat is sponsored and brought to you by Women of Vision Leadership Ministries.
What You Can Expect
The official retreat time will begin on Friday afternoon at 2pm. Women will pick up their registration packets and the first sessions will begin 3pm. All sessions are optional, and retreat attendees can choose which sessions are most helpful for them in their ministry journey. Retreat attendees are encouraged to walk the grounds, spend time talking with other women, relax, and enjoy their time away. There are several rooms available at the retreat center: quiet rooms for one-on-one mentoring conversations, a beautiful second floor all seasons room with fireplace, second floor chapel and prayer room, and a hospitality room on the first floor. Attendees are invited to bring snacks to share. On Friday evening, there will be a special worship service with music, preaching, and a time of testimony. Activities and other sessions will be announced in the beginning of 2018. You can expect roasting smores by the campfire, teaching and training sessions, panel discussions and Q&A time, and a relaxing painting and chocolate fondue activity. Friday dinner, and Saturday breakfast and lunch are included in the registration fee. We do not have to cook! Praise God! Just come and relax for a weekend! There will be several sessions and activities planned for Saturday, and the retreat will end around 2:30pm. You can expect journaling time, group building activities, and different seminars about women in leadership within the Church. The retreat center is about fifteen minutes from the Saint Louis airport. No children please, as this is a time to relax and refresh in ministry.
There will be different registration options. Retreat attendees can arrive on Thursday or Friday, and there will be a price differential for those who choose to arrive on Thursday evening.
