The Days of Forgiveness by TaJuanda Michelle
Two years ago I wondered what life would be like if I were free from worry, anxiety, rage or thinking about my sins. I tried to take routes like running to release stress, compromising God’s righteousness for a self-righteousness that I felt I could live up to, and meditating on the good I’ve done compared to others. These were temporary contradictory lifestyle decisions that could never measure up to the life free from sin that only Jesus Christ offered me soon after. I attended Greater Grace World Outreach and a pastor mentioned, “We need to hear that we are forgiven. We could never hear it enough.” Soon the Lord Jesus was going to continue the work in my heart.
One scripture helped me and I ponder this truth more than my past anxiety. “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace” (Ephesians 1:7, KJV). I love this life of redemption! A powerful God gives grace to each of us, hoping we will turn away from our sins and learn to be in relationship with Him. This means a lot! It is a different pursuit than walking out of a life of sin into the world so no flesh can glory in itself and even if it desired to glory in itself there will be something that comes up which grieves the Holy Spirit of God. It is because there is no unity in adhering to the desires of the flesh. If we come to know Him according to the truth of who He is, then our lives can begin to get sharpened in Him. This is vital to living a life which pleases the Heavenly Father. His holiness cleanses our sin. We can be conformed to the image of God, and are welcomed to receive eternal life. We are free. We are justified. We are in Christ our Lord. Keep the faith everyone!
